Description
Dolly is a wool pouffe made in the shape of a sleepy sheep, with a deep shaggy coat, floppy ears, little feet and stitched eyes closed in a doze. The cover is 73% wool and 27% cotton in a soft cream, and the filling is 100% polystyrene. It measures 55cm long, 45cm wide and 50cm tall, so it is big enough to sit on and big enough to wrap both arms around. Wool is a naturally springy fibre, and the long, loose strands give the pouffe a coat you want to sink your hands into.
We would put it first in a nursery, playroom or child's bedroom, where it works as a seat, a footrest and something soft to lean against at story time. The maker gives a maximum load of 80KG, so it is made to be sat on rather than only admired. It sits just as happily in a living room beside a sofa or armchair, where the cream coat suits pale wood, cane and stone, and gives a grown-up somewhere to rest their feet at the end of the day. At 2KG it is easy to lift and carry from one room to another, so it can follow a child from bedroom to playroom.
The pouffe is spot clean only, so it does not go in the washing machine; treat a mark where it lands rather than washing the whole piece. The maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download. For a cosy reading spot, set Dolly on a flat-weave rug in the corner of a playroom, where the shaggy wool stands out against the smoother texture underfoot, and add a basket of books within easy reach.

Frequently Asked
What is the Dolly pouffe made of?
The cover is 73% wool and 27% cotton in cream, and the filling inside is 100% polystyrene, which keeps the pouffe light at 2KG.
How big is the sheep pouffe?
It measures 55cm long, 45cm wide and 50cm tall, which makes it large enough for a child to sit on or wrap their arms around.
How much weight can it take?
The maker gives a maximum load of 80KG, so it is made to be used as a seat or a footrest rather than kept for display.
How do I clean the wool pouffe?
It is spot clean only. It does not go in the washing machine, so treat any marks on the surface of the wool coat rather than washing the whole pouffe.
Are there assembly instructions?
Yes. The maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download, so you have the steps to hand before you set it up.
Will it work in a living room as well as a child's room?
Yes. Although it is made as a child's seat, the cream wool coat sits comfortably beside a sofa or armchair, where it works as a footrest as well as a seat.
