Description

The Cyrill is a green stoneware candle holder shaped like a branching cactus: a central stem rises from a flared foot, and two arms curve out and up on either side, so it holds three candles at once. Each arm ends in a cup with a scalloped, petal-like rim, and the central cup stands a little higher than the outer two, giving the candles a gentle stepped line. The whole piece wears a glossy, mottled green glaze that pools into lighter and darker tones over a raised, textured surface, much like the skin of a plant. It measures 21cm long, 10cm wide and 21cm tall, and weighs 0.51KG.

At 21cm tall it is sized for a tabletop: a side table, a hallway console, a mantelpiece or a sideboard all suit it, and its 10cm width lets it sit on a narrow shelf. On a dining table it makes an easy centrepiece for a long dinner with friends, and three flames together spread a soft glow along the table. It takes taper or dinner candles and stands them upright in a neat row. It suits anyone who likes a home with a little character, plant lovers in particular, and it looks right among patterned wallpaper, painted furniture and other glazed ceramics, where its green picks up houseplants nearby.

It is made of 100% stoneware, a dense ceramic fired at high temperature, and the glaze lays a smooth, glossy finish over the raised texture, so the colour shifts from one part of the surface to the next. The styling props shown are not included, the candles among them, so choose three to suit your room: tall, slim tapers keep the outline crisp and graphic, while shorter dinner candles make it feel softer. Place it where daylight or a nearby lamp can catch the glaze, and its texture comes alive even when the candles are unlit.

Frequently Asked

What material is the Cyrill candle holder?

It is made of 100% stoneware, finished in a glossy, mottled green glaze over a raised, textured surface shaped like a branching cactus.

How big is it?

It is 21cm long, 10cm wide and 21cm tall, and weighs 0.51KG, a good size for a side table, mantelpiece or sideboard.

How many candles does it hold?

Three. One sits in the central cup and one at the end of each curved arm, and every cup has a scalloped, petal-like rim.

Are candles included?

No. The styling props shown are not included, and that covers the candles, so you will need three taper or dinner candles of your own.

Will it fit on a narrow shelf?

Yes. It is only 10cm wide, so it sits happily on a narrow shelf or mantelpiece, with its 21cm length running along the shelf.
