Description

Our Cinta cushion is a rectangular patchwork cushion in a natural colour, with a woven cover that is half jute and half cotton. Each end is split into two panels set like a checkerboard, one in an open, basket-like weave and one in a denser, flecked weave, while the centre panel carries rows of raised looped stitching between two fringed bands. Loose fringing runs down both short ends. It is 50cm long and 30cm wide, a lumbar size that sits long and low. Jute is a coarse plant fibre with a dry, rustic handle, and cotton is the softer of the two.

A cushion of this length suits the small of the back, so it works well on a dining chair, an armchair or a window seat. On a sofa it sits in front of larger square cushions, and across a made bed it adds a low, textured layer in front of the pillows.
