Description
Our Cielo tealight holder is a long strip of black iron cut into the silhouette of a small Christmas village: houses with pitched roofs and chimneys, tall fir trees, and a church at the centre with a cross on its bell tower. The windows, doors and roof lines are cut right through the metal. Behind the silhouette, a narrow base carries four round cups for tealights, so from the front the flames stay mostly hidden and their glow shows through the cut-out windows, as though every house had its lamps lit. It measures 35cm long, 5cm wide and 12.5cm tall, and weighs 0.19KG.
At 5cm wide it fits where a bulkier candle holder will not: a narrow windowsill, a mantelpiece or a slim shelf. The long, low outline also sits well along a sideboard or down the middle of a dining table through December, and because it weighs so little it is easy to move from room to room and to pack away with the rest of the Christmas decorations in January. It suits anyone who likes festive decorating that is graphic and calm rather than glittery, and it makes a thoughtful gift for a host, a neighbour or someone in their first home.
The holder is made entirely of iron and finished in a black textured powder coating, which gives the surface a fine crackled pattern instead of a flat, plain sheen. A base strip runs the full length behind the village and carries the cups, so the piece stands on its own with no fixings needed. To style it, drop a tealight into each cup and stand the holder with the village facing into the room; by day, unlit, it still reads as a crisp black outline against a window or a pale wall.
