Description

The Chimeris is an 88x63cm rectangle wall mirror framed in a black resin outer moulding with a polished silver beaded inner trim. The dual-tone frame structure creates a stepped profile: the black outer frame sits at 4cm depth, while the silver beaded trim runs along the inner edge of the glass, giving a layered appearance when viewed from an angle.

Designed for vertical hanging in hallways, bedrooms and dressing areas, the 88cm height makes the mirror suitable for full-length viewing when mounted at typical adult shoulder height. The 63cm width provides enough lateral reflection for checking outfit proportions without dominating narrow wall spaces. The black and silver combination pairs with both warm-metal accent interiors (brass, gold door furniture) and cool-metal schemes (chrome, nickel fixtures).

The resin frame keeps the 8kg weight manageable for plasterboard wall mounting with appropriate fixings, while the moulded construction gives the silver beading a consistent rope-twist pattern along all four edges. The Chimeris is designed for vertical hanging, with the 88cm dimension providing height for full-length reflection. Horizontal mounting is physically possible but changes the proportions — it would function better as a wide decorative mirror rather than for full outfit checking.

What fixings are needed for an 8kg mirror on plasterboard?

Use plasterboard fixings rated for at least 12-15kg to provide a safety margin. Most fitters use two heavy-duty toggle bolts or metal cavity anchors positioned at the top of the mirror's hanging points, ensuring load is distributed across the wall structure behind the plasterboard.

Is the frame real wood or resin?

The frame is moulded resin (plastic). This keeps the weight down to 8kg and gives the silver beaded detail a consistent pattern that would be harder to achieve with hand-applied finishes on wood.

Does the silver tarnish or need polishing?

No. The silver-effect beading is integral to the resin moulding and finished with a metallic coating that does not tarnish. A dry microfibre cloth removes dust; no metal polish is needed.
