Description

A set of four short tumblers, each 7.5cm tall and 7.5cm across, hand blown from recycled glass. The walls carry shallow irregular facets rather than a flat surface, and a small pinched dimple sits on one side of every glass where the material was worked while it was still soft. The lip is rolled over into a thick rounded band. The base is heavy, and the glass holds a faint grey-green cast rather than reading water-white.

Each glass holds 200ml, which is a water glass or a short drink rather than a tall one. Set out along a laid table, at 7.5cm tall they sit well below the sight line across it. Four cover a table of four with a glass each. The Chandani also runs as a taller 13cm tumbler for a long drink.

The glass is recycled and each tumbler is blown by hand, the maker working the hot material with traditional tools and pinching in the hold point. The profile is left unregulated, so the line of the wall, the set of the lip and the depth of the facets differ from one glass to the next, and the four in a set will not match one another exactly.

Frequently Asked

How many tumblers come in a set?

Four. Each one is 7.5cm tall and 7.5cm across.

How much does each glass hold?

200ml.

Is recycled glass dishwasher safe?

Yes, these are dishwasher safe. Washing after every use stops the glass staining. Use a mild detergent and do not leave them to soak.

Will the four glasses match each other?

Not exactly. Each one is blown and shaped by hand to an unregulated profile, so the facets, the rolled lip and the line of the wall vary between them.

Are they food safe?

Yes.
