Description
The Knightsbridge CAT6a RJ45 network outlet provides a single shuttered unshielded RJ45 socket behind a brushed chrome rounded edge faceplate. The outlet supports CAT6a specifications for data transfer rates up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet over distances up to 100 metres, and is compatible with Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications for devices like IP cameras and VoIP phones.
Designed for residential and light commercial installations where wired network connections are needed alongside wireless coverage, the outlet fits home offices, media rooms, security camera runs and anywhere a stable gigabit Ethernet connection is required. The shuttered RJ45 socket prevents dust ingress and accidental contact with the IDC terminations behind the faceplate when no cable is plugged in.
The 304 stainless steel construction with brushed chrome finish provides a hardwearing surface that resists fingerprints and pairs with both contemporary and traditional interior schemes. The rounded edge profile sits 7.5mm proud of the wall once fitted to a 35mm minimum depth back box, giving a softer visual and tactile edge than sharp-cornered plates. The outlet uses IDC (insulation displacement contact) terminations that accept solid-core CAT6a cable without stripping.
Full CAT6a performance requires certified CAT6a cable throughout the run from the outlet back to the network switch or router. Using CAT5e or CAT6 cable will limit the outlet to the lower specification of that cable, not the CAT6a rating of the outlet itself.

Frequently Asked
What cable does it terminate?
The outlet uses IDC terminations designed for solid-core CAT6a cable. To achieve full CAT6a performance, the entire cable run from the outlet to the network switch must use certified CAT6a cable. Using CAT5e or CAT6 will limit performance to that lower specification.
What back box depth is required?
A 35mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The faceplate projects 7.5mm from the wall once fitted, giving a total depth of approximately 42.5mm including the back box.
Does it support Power over Ethernet?
Yes. The outlet is compatible with PoE applications, allowing it to supply power and data over a single cable to devices like IP cameras, VoIP phones and wireless access points.
What other finishes are available?
Knightsbridge produces this style in a range of finishes including polished chrome, matt black, white, antique brass and satin brass. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
