Description

The Carmon Stripe cushion is a filled rectangular cushion measuring 40 by 60cm, dressed in a warm ochre ground crossed by relaxed vertical cream stripes and finished all the way round with a gathered ruffle trim. The stripes are printed with a hand-drawn, slightly wavering quality rather than ruler-straight lines, which gives the front its easy, unfussy character. It is made from a linen-look blend of 85% polyester and 15% linen, so it carries the slubbed, textured look of natural linen while leaning on polyester for the bulk of its structure.

This is a lumbar-shaped cushion, wider than it is tall, which makes it a natural fit propped against the arm of a sofa, laid across the head of a bed, or used to fill out a window seat or reading chair. The ochre and cream palette sits comfortably with warm neutrals, wood tones and other natural-toned soft furnishings, and the horizontal proportion works well layered in front of larger square cushions. The stripe direction runs across the width, so it reads as a long band of pattern when placed on its side.

The front carries the printed stripe while the reverse is left plain in a natural linen-look tone, so the cushion can be flipped to switch between the striped face and a quieter solid side. It fastens with a zip closure, which keeps the seams clean and lets you remove the cover. The ruffle trim is gathered from the same fabrics and frames the whole edge.
