Description

We stock the Calipso in black as a compact, adjustable spotlight for single-circuit track. It takes one GU10 bulb up to 10W (sold separately) in a ribbed black aluminium body, and the head rotates and tilts on the track adaptor so you can direct the light once it is fitted. Because the bulb is separate, you choose the LED or halogen GU10 that suits the room.

We think it works well for retail displays, gallery walls, kitchen worktop task lighting and home offices, anywhere you want directed accent or task light on a flexible run. The head angles onto artwork, shelving or a work surface, and it slides along the track and repositions without any re-wiring. The black finish sits quietly against a dark ceiling or reads as contrast on a white one.

The vertical external ribbing on the housing adds surface area for passive cooling, which helps when you run a higher-wattage halogen GU10. The track adaptor fits most single-circuit two-wire track sold in the UK, so it pairs with other Calipso track parts and compatible third-party track. It carries an IP20 rating for dry interior use only and is not dimmable, running on 220-240V mains at 50Hz.

No. The Calipso takes one GU10 bulb up to 10W, which is sold separately, so you can pick the LED or halogen GU10 and colour temperature that suit the space.

Will it fit my existing track?

The track adaptor fits most single-circuit two-wire track sold in the UK, including other Calipso track parts and compatible third-party track. It is not designed for multi-circuit track.

Can I use it in a bathroom or outdoors?

No. It carries an IP20 rating, so we recommend it for dry interior locations only, not damp zones or outdoor positions.

Is it dimmable?

The spotlight itself is not dimmable. Whether you can dim it depends on the GU10 bulb you fit and a compatible dimmer, both sold separately.
