The Bubble is a copper wall light with a reading light: three lights on one tall backplate with rounded ends. Two opal glass globes sit one over the other, and beneath them a slim copper tube carries an integrated LED reading light. The structure is iron. The opal glass softens the light from the globes into an even glow, and the reading light throws a focused 45° beam. The fitting is 38cm tall and stands 10.5cm out from the wall, and each globe shade is 8cm across.

We think it is most at home beside a bed or a favourite reading chair. There the globes give a gentle background light, and the reading light puts a pool of light on the page without lighting the whole room. It also works in a hallway or on a living room wall, singly or as a pair either side of a bed. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The globes take two G9 lamps, each up to 60mm long. The reading light is an integrated LED, so it needs no bulb. It draws 2.7W and gives 250 lumens of warm white 3000K light, and with a CRI of 90 or more it shows the colours of a book or a fabric truly.

The structure is iron with a copper finish, a warm metallic tone that runs from the backplate to the slim reading tube, and the diffusers are milky white opal glass. It runs on 220 to 240V mains, so it is for a qualified electrician to install, and it carries a 3 year guarantee. When styling it, keep the wall behind it plain so the two white globes and the copper line read clearly. Warm whites, soft plaster pinks and deep greens all suit the copper, and it sits happily beside wood and linen in a bedroom.
