The Bubble is a modern wall light that pairs two alabaster globes with a slim reading light, set on a tall gold backplate with rounded ends. Its structure is iron in a gold finish, and the two globes are alabaster diffusers, each 8cm across, with soft veining running through them. They light from two G9 lamp holders, taking G9 lamps up to 60mm long. Lower down, the reading light is an integrated LED, so it needs no bulb: 2.7W giving 250 lumens of warm 3000K light in a 45° beam. The whole fitting is 38cm tall and stands 10.5cm out from the wall.

With its tall, slim shape and a reading light of its own, the Bubble suits the wall beside a bed: the globes give a gentle background glow while the reading light sends a focused beam onto a book. It works just as well beside an armchair in a living room or in a quiet reading corner, and on a hallway or landing wall where space is tight. The reading light has a colour rendering index of 90 or more, so print and colours look true under it. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The structure is iron, finished in gold, and the alabaster diffusers bring a warm, softly marked surface to it. The fitting runs on 220-240V mains and is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, the gold and the warm tones of alabaster sit well with walnut, oak, brass and cream linen, and a pair either side of a bed makes a calm, balanced headboard wall, giving each side its own reading light.
