This Bubble wall light pairs two alabaster globes with a slim integrated LED reading light, all set on a tall copper backplate with rounded ends. The two globes take G9 lamps and give a soft, even glow through the veined alabaster, while the reading light beneath them throws a focused 45° beam just where you want it. That LED draws 2.7W and gives 250 lumens at 3000K, a warm white, with a CRI of 90 or more, so colours look true under it. Being integrated, the reading light never needs a bulb; for the globes, choose G9 lamps no longer than 60mm. The fitting stands 38cm tall and projects 10.5cm from the wall, and each alabaster globe is 8cm across.

Its modern lines make it a natural choice beside a bed, where the globes wash the wall with gentle light and the reading light picks out a book without waking the whole room. Fitted either side of a headboard, a pair gives a hotel-like symmetry, and one works just as well beside a reading chair in a living room, at a desk in a study or along a hallway where a little low light is welcome. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It runs on 220-240V mains and is for a qualified electrician to install.

The structure is iron, finished in copper, and the two globe diffusers are alabaster, so each carries its own veining and no two fittings look quite the same. The copper has a soft sheen that warms in the light from the globes, and the backplate keeps everything neat and tidy against the wall. It carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, we love the copper against warm whites, plaster pinks, terracotta and natural wood, and it looks just as good on a deep green or navy wall, where the pale alabaster globes really stand out.
