Description

The Bruma is a ribbed glass dome pendant light with a soft, layered look. Its outer shade is gradient smoked glass, clearer towards the top and deepening towards the lower edge, and inside it sits a white inner shade made from recycled PLA, ribbed in a gentle swirl that shows through the glass. The dome is 21cm tall and 19cm across, a compact size that hangs comfortably in most rooms. It takes one E27 lamp, the large screw cap, and when lit the white inner shade glows softly behind the smoked glass.

We see it hanging over a dining table, beside a bed, in a hallway or above a favourite chair in a living room, anywhere you want a pendant with a little depth to it. The smoked glass keeps it calm and modern by day, and the lit inner shade gives a soft glow in the evening. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry rooms only. It runs on 220-240V mains and hangs from a 1.5m black cable, with an 8cm ceiling canopy keeping the fixing neat. Mains fittings are for a qualified electrician to install.

The two layers are what make it: gradient smoked glass outside, white recycled PLA inside, with the ribs set in a slow diagonal twist. The black cable and the black cap at the top of the shade give it a quiet, graphic contrast. It carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, hang two or three in a line over a long table at slightly different heights, or let a single one drop low over a side table where its swirl can be seen up close. It sits happily with pale walls, warm wood and plenty of green plants, and the smoked glass suits brass, black metal and oak alike.
