Description

Breeze is a floor lamp built on a tripod of three wooden legs, topped with a white cotton drum shade. The legs are a light, natural wood, and a slim gold stem rises through their centre to carry the shade, with gold braces tying the legs together near the top and again close to the floor. It stands 143cm tall, and the drum shade is 45cm across and 24cm tall, broad enough to spread a soft, even glow through the cotton. It has a single E27 lamp holder, a common cap that gives you plenty of choice over the warmth and brightness of the light.

We see it most at home in a living room, standing beside a sofa or armchair to light a reading corner, or in a bedroom where a ceiling light feels too much at night. It sits just as well in a study or a quiet corner of a dining room. The pale wood and white cotton suit Scandinavian and modern rooms, and the gold detail adds a little warmth against plain walls. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. A 2m cable gives you some freedom over where it stands in relation to the socket.

The structure is wood and brass, with a fabric shade in white cotton and a plastic cable, and it runs on 220-240V mains. It is switched simply on and off rather than dimmed, so there is no dimmer to match. It carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, let the tripod have a little space around it so the three legs read clearly, and pair it with natural textures such as linen, wool or a jute rug, or set it beside a low wooden side table where its warm wood can echo the furniture.
