The Bowie is a compact table lamp in the shape of a cylinder, with an alabaster shade set on an iron base and a cream textile cable. Its column rises in stacked bands with a ribbed white cap towards the foot, and when the lamp is on the alabaster glows softly, its grey veining showing through the stone. It stands 19.5cm tall, with a 7cm shade on a 10cm base, so it needs very little room. The light is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to fit or replace. It draws 5W and gives 400 lumens of warm 3000K light, with a CRI of 85 or above, so colours look natural beneath it.

Its size suits the places where a larger lamp would crowd things: a bedside table, a side table beside an armchair, a hallway console or a shelf in a living room or study. With a 180 degree beam angle the light spreads out and around rather than pooling in one spot, so it works best as a gentle accent or a soft evening light rather than for close reading.
