Description

The Bowie is a linear LED alabaster pendant light: a long, slim cylinder of alabaster, divided into sections and closed at each end with 3D-printed caps. It comes in two sizes, 130cm and 190cm, and each size hangs from a 14cm canopy, so you choose the one that suits the length of your table. Inside is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives 1400 lumens at 25W, in a warm white of 3000K with a CRI of 90, so wood, food and skin tones look true. Because the light leaves at 360°, the whole bar glows through the stone, showing its soft, cloudy veining.

Hung level, it is made for a long surface: a dining table, a conference table in a home office or boardroom, or a hotel or office reception counter. Choose the 130cm size for a shorter table or desk, and the 190cm size for a long dining or meeting table. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. Its clean, modern line sits well in a contemporary interior, and the alabaster brings natural warmth to concrete, plaster or dark painted walls.

The body is alabaster, finished with 3D-printed caps and fed by a cream textile cable 2m long. It hangs on two fine suspension wires, so it reads as a single bar of light floating above the table. It switches on and off and is not dimmable, so plan a second light for a softer evening level. As a mains fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 5 year guarantee. For styling, centre the bar along the length of the table and let the warm glow fall on natural wood, linen and stone, keeping the rest of the room's lighting low so the alabaster takes the lead.
