Description

The Boga Vertical Up is a linear LED pendant made as a single upright column of blown-glass cones, each one pointing upwards with its wide rim at the bottom and its tip at the top, threaded on a slim matt black iron rod. The opal white glass glows evenly all round, as the light spreads through a 360° beam, and the integrated LED gives 1200 lumens at a warm 3000K with a CRI of 90, so colours and skin tones look natural. As the LED is built in, there is no bulb to fit. The fitting is 111cm tall, and each glass shade measures 16.3cm across and 10.5cm tall.

Its long, narrow drop suits rooms with some height to give: beside a sofa or armchair in a living room, over a sideboard or console, or in a hallway or landing where a tall, slender pendant fills the space without taking up width. It is equally at home in a modern dining room, hung to one side of the table as a column of soft light. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only. It is switched on and off rather than dimmed, so it works from a standard wall switch and is not for use with a dimmer.

The frame is iron in a matt black finish, the shades are blown glass, and the pendant hangs on a 1.5m textile cable from a 14cm ceiling canopy. It runs on 220-240V mains and draws 20W, and it is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 5 year guarantee. For styling, we like it against warm, plain walls and natural textures, where the black rod and the glowing glass cones stand out cleanly; two hung side by side at slightly different heights make an even stronger vertical line.
