Description

This is a compact wall light from our Blink range: a ribbed glass disc in a graphite finish, set on an iron fitting. The disc is a round of blown glass, ribbed with fine concentric rings that run out from the centre to the rim, so each ridge catches the light and the face reads as softly textured rather than flat. It measures 13.2cm across and stands 8.2cm out from the wall, small enough to sit neatly in a narrow space. It takes one GX53 lamp, and it runs on 220-240V mains.

With its modern lines and modest size, it suits hallways, landings, bedrooms and living rooms, anywhere a wall needs a point of light without a large fitting. A pair either side of a bed works well as bedside lighting, and a run of them along a corridor gives a steady rhythm of glowing discs at eye level. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry rooms only. It is switched on and off rather than dimmed, so an ordinary wall switch controls it.

It is made from iron and blown glass, finished in graphite, a dark grey that sits comfortably against white, pale grey or warm plaster walls and suits a modern scheme. As a mains fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install, and it carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, we like it on a pale wall where the dark ribbed glass stands out, or grouped in twos or threes on a stair wall at the same height, so the discs line up neatly and the rings read as one pattern across the wall.
