Description

The Knightsbridge blank grid module is a black nickel faceplate designed to fill unused positions in the Grid modular wiring system. The module clips into position from the front of a Grid mounting frame (sold separately), covering empty apertures where no switch, socket or data port is needed.

Used in residential, commercial and hospitality installations, blank modules maintain a consistent visual across multi-gang Grid plates when not all positions are populated with active components. The black nickel finish matches other Grid components in the same range, allowing mixed configurations of switches, sockets, USB ports and blanking plates to sit flush on a single frame without visible gaps or exposed back boxes.

The module measures 56.3mm high by 24.8mm wide, matching the standard Grid module aperture size. The ABS and steel construction provides rigidity while the IP20 rating confirms suitability for dry indoor locations. The 25mm minimum back box depth requirement matches standard Grid installations, and the clip-on fixing means modules can be swapped or repositioned without re-wiring the frame.

What is the Knightsbridge Grid system?

The Grid system is a modular wiring accessory range that allows multiple switches, sockets, USB ports and data outlets to be combined on a single mounting frame. Individual modules clip into the frame from the front, making it easy to configure and reconfigure multi-gang plates without rewiring.

Do I need a mounting frame?

Yes. Blank modules clip into a separate Grid mounting frame, which is fixed to the back box. Frames are sold separately in 1, 2, 3 and 4-gang configurations, and can hold any combination of Grid modules including blanks, switches, sockets and data ports.

Can I mix finishes on the same frame?

The Grid system is designed for matched finishes across all modules on a single frame. Mixing black nickel with polished chrome or brushed brass on the same plate creates visible finish inconsistency. For best results, use the same finish across all modules on a given frame.
