Description
The Bisel is a spiral cluster chandelier in matt black, made from iron, glass and textile cable. Slim cylindrical shades hang on their own cables from a round ceiling canopy, each one a little lower than the next, so together they turn in a spiral as they fall. Each shade is matt black along most of its length and clear glass at its lower end, which gives the cluster a crisp two-tone look against the ceiling. The lamp cap is G9 and the recommended lamp is a G9 LED, a small capsule lamp that sits neatly inside a slim shade.
This is a chandelier for height. The textile cables run from 1.5m to 3m, so it suits a long drop down a stairwell, over a staircase or into a double-height hallway, where a single pendant would look lost and a spiral of light fills the space from top to bottom. It also works over a dining table or in an open-plan living room with a high ceiling. Its modern lines sit happily in a contemporary home and in a period house with tall rooms. It is rated IP20, which means dry rooms only, so keep it to hallways, landings, living and dining rooms.
It is built from iron and glass on textile cables, finished in matt black, and runs on 220-240V mains. As a mains fitting it is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, matt black reads clearly against white or pale walls, and the clear glass tips keep a long cluster from looking heavy. It looks best where the spiral can be seen from below and from the landing, so the full turn of the shades is on view as you climb the stairs.
