Description
Our Bisel chandelier is a modern spiral cluster of slim cylindrical shades, each hanging on its own textile cable from a round ceiling canopy, the drops stepping down one after another so the whole fitting winds through the air in a loose spiral. The shades are iron in a warm copper finish, each ending in a clear glass tip, so you see a run of copper and glass from the ceiling downwards. It takes G9 lamps, and G9 LED lamps are the recommended choice, so you choose the lamp and its colour of light yourself. The cable length is given as 1.5m to 3m, so this is a chandelier made for height rather than a low ceiling.
Its natural home is a stairwell, hanging down the open centre of a staircase where the long drop and spiral line follow the turn of the stairs. It works just as well in a double-height hallway, an entrance hall or above a dining table in a room with a tall ceiling, where the cluster gives one strong focal point instead of several small lights. The look is modern and clean, with the copper bringing warmth to white, grey or plaster-toned walls. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only: living spaces, halls, landings and dining rooms, never anywhere it could be splashed.
It is made of iron, glass and textile cable, and the cloth-covered cable has a softer look than bare flex. It runs on 220-240V mains and, like any mains fitting, is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, let the copper lead: pair it with oak, walnut or stone and keep other metalwork in the space quiet, so the spiral reads clearly from the floor below and from the landing above.
