Description

The Bern is a 30W LED outdoor spike light with an integrated warm white 3000K light source housed in a white powder-coated aluminium cylinder. The lamp head tilts and rotates on a brass-bushed joint, allowing the beam to be aimed at planting, walls, architectural features or pathways, and the spike shaft adjusts in height from 192mm to 267mm above ground level to suit different planting beds and border depths.

Designed for residential and commercial landscape lighting, the Bern suits front gardens, driveways, courtyard borders, and pathway edges where directional accent lighting is needed. The IP65 rating protects the internal LED module against rain, ground moisture and garden irrigation spray, and the aluminium body resists corrosion in coastal and exposed locations. The integrated LED delivers 30W output at a CRI of 80, providing enough intensity to uplight small trees, highlight shrub planting, or wash light across rendered walls and fencing.

The white powder-coat finish pairs cleanly with white-rendered walls, pale stone paving, and contemporary garden schemes using greys and soft neutrals. The cylindrical body measures 130mm in diameter and extends 230mm from the spike tip to the lamp head, giving a substantial presence without overwhelming border planting. The glass diffuser at the lamp head softens the LED output and prevents direct glare when viewed from pathways or seating areas. The 110-240V AC supply suits UK mains voltage and the integrated LED removes the need for bulb replacement during the typical 3-year warranty period.

Can the lamp head be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The lamp head tilts and rotates on a joint, allowing the beam to be aimed at different targets without repositioning the entire spike. The height is also adjustable from 192mm to 267mm above ground by sliding the shaft up or down before tightening the fixing collar.

What's the IP65 rating mean for garden use?

IP65 provides full protection against dust and low-pressure water jets from any direction, so the light can be installed in open borders exposed to rain, irrigation spray and ground moisture without damage to the LED module or wiring.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The Bern uses an integrated LED module rated at 30W and 3000K. The module is designed to last the typical warranty period without replacement. If the LED fails, the entire fitting would need to be replaced.

What soil types does the spike suit?

The spike works in most soil types including loam, clay and sandy soils. In very hard or compacted ground, pre-drilling a pilot hole may make installation easier. In soft or sandy soil, the spike may benefit from being anchored with a small concrete collar to prevent movement.
