Basis LED Pendant Light - Black

We stock the Basis as a slim linear LED pendant in black for hanging over an island, dining table or desk. It is a 1.2m suspended line built around a matt black aluminium extrusion, with an integrated 36W LED at 2700K running the full length so the light reads as one continuous warm strip rather than a row of separate bulbs.

The LED casts downward through a wide 100 degree beam, spreading even task light across the surface below without the pool-and-shadow effect you get from multi-bulb fittings, which makes it a practical choice for kitchen islands, open-plan dining and workspaces where you want steady light for prep, eating and working. It is dimmable too, so you can take it from full brightness during cooking down to a softer level for sitting at the table.

The black powder-coated aluminium housing keeps the cable and suspension hardware tucked away, so from below you see a clean horizontal line. A 90 CRI rating means colours read accurately across food, tableware and textiles beneath it, and the IP20 rating confirms it is for indoor dry locations only. It runs on 220-240V and carries an Energy Class of G.

Product datasheet

Is it dimmable?

Yes. The integrated 36W LED dims on a compatible dimmer (sold separately), so you can set it from full task brightness for cooking down to a softer level for dining.

What colour of light does it give?

It gives a warm white at 2700K with a 90 CRI rating, so colours across food, tableware and textiles below it read accurately.

How long is it and where does it suit?

The line is 1200mm long, which suits hanging over an island, a dining table or a desk. The 100 degree beam spreads even light along the whole surface below.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 for indoor dry locations only, so we would not fit it in a bathroom or anywhere exposed to moisture.
