The Balise is a cordless, rechargeable table lamp in green, built as a small cylindrical lantern: an iron cap on top and an iron base, with a ribbed blown-glass shade between them. The integrated LED needs no bulb to fit and gives 250 lumens of warm 3000K light from 2.2W through a 360° beam, so the ribbed glass lets light out all the way round. A CRI of 90 or more keeps colours true beside it. It stands 19.5cm tall and 13.5cm across, on an 11cm base, and push dimming lets you set the brightness at the lamp itself.

Because it runs on its own battery, it goes where a socket does not reach: the middle of a dining table, a bedside, a bookshelf or a side table by the sofa, then on to another room when you want it there. A full charge gives a battery life of 6 hours, enough for a long dinner or an evening of reading. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. Its modern, compact shape suits a contemporary interior and will not crowd a small table, and the low, warm light makes it a good choice for anyone who wants soft light in the evening rather than a bright overhead glare.

The structure is iron, finished in green, and the shade is blown glass with fine vertical ribs that soften the LED and scatter it gently through the glass.
