Description

The Axel 70° high bay reflector is a 465mm diameter aluminium accessory that mounts onto 150W LED high bay fixtures to control beam spread and increase downward light output. The reflector sits around the lamp head with a 185mm projection depth, creating a 70° beam angle that concentrates light onto the floor area directly below while reducing spill light onto walls and upper ceiling zones.

Designed for warehouse, workshop, factory and retail storage installations where high ceilings (typically 5-12m) need directed task lighting rather than ambient wash, the reflector increases usable lux levels on work surfaces and floor areas without increasing the wattage of the fitting. The 70° beam is wider than a 60° industrial reflector but narrower than a 90° or 120° spread, making it suitable for typical warehouse aisle widths of 2.5-4m where fixtures are spaced 6-8m apart.

The aluminium body is finished in black and provides thermal conductivity to help dissipate heat from the LED fixture during continuous operation. The reflector's internal surface has a metallic finish that reflects light downward with minimal absorption loss. At 465mm diameter the reflector fits standard 150W high bay fixtures from Knightsbridge's Axel range and similar form-factor LED high bays with compatible mounting hardware.

Frequently Asked

What fixtures is this reflector compatible with?

The Axel 70° reflector is designed for 150W LED high bay fixtures in the Knightsbridge Axel range. It may fit other 150W high bay models with similar mounting hardware, but compatibility should be confirmed before ordering if pairing with a non-Axel fixture.

How does the 70° beam angle compare to other reflectors?

A 70° beam is mid-range. Narrower angles (60° or less) create tighter, more intense pools of light suitable for very high ceilings or narrow aisles. Wider angles (90° or 120°) spread light over larger floor areas but reduce peak lux levels. The 70° angle suits typical warehouse and workshop ceiling heights of 5-8m with moderate aisle widths.

Does fitting the reflector reduce the light output?

No. The reflector redirects light that would otherwise spill to the sides or upward, concentrating it downward. This increases the lux reading on the floor directly below the fixture while reducing scattered light in the upper ceiling area, improving overall lighting efficiency.

Is the reflector sold with the high bay fixture or separately?

This is sold as a separate accessory. If you need the complete 150W high bay fixture with reflector, search for the Axel high bay models which may include reflectors as part of the kit, or purchase this reflector alongside the base fixture.
