Athardi Drop Baubles - Antique Silver - Set of 4

A set of four glass drops, each 10cm long and 3cm across, blown into a spiral that twists from the point at the bottom up to the neck. The silvering is uneven, going dark and mottled in some places and staying bright in others. Each drop is capped with a dark metal crown pressed with a small repeating pattern, and hangs on a plain ribbon threaded through a ring at the top.

At 10cm long and 3cm across, these hang below a branch rather than sitting in among it, and the ridges of the twist catch light down the whole length. Four of them will space out across the front of a tree, or hang along a bare branch or a mantelpiece garland where each one has room to swing. They tie straight over a branch, and the ribbon is long enough to do that without a hook.

The glass is recycled and the cap is metal. Each drop is hand blown, so the spiral turns a little differently on every one and the silvering has broken up in its own pattern; the four in a set will not match each other exactly. The ties are plain ribbon with no print on them.

How long is each drop?

10cm long and 3cm across at its widest. The ribbon adds to that again when it hangs.

How many are in a set?

Four.

What is the glass?

Recycled glass. It is cleaned, crushed and melted down, then hand blown into the twisted shape.

How do they hang?

From a ring at the cap, on a plain ribbon tie that loops over a branch.

How should they be looked after?

Wipe away any dust with a dry, soft cloth and handle them with care. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they will damage the finish. They are for indoor use only.
