Description
We stock the Aros as a low-profile dome ceiling light in grey, made for rooms where a pendant would hang too low. The spun aluminium shade sits close to the ceiling and holds an integrated 12W LED that gives 684 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, with an 80 CRI rating so colours in the room read naturally. It is a plain, honest fitting that suits neutral, industrial and Scandinavian interiors.
The dome throws all of its light straight down in a wide 180 degree spread, which makes it a good choice for general ambient lighting in hallways, utility rooms and small bedrooms. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor locations only. Because the profile is shallow, it works well on lower ceilings where you still want even, glare-free light across the whole space.
The LED is integrated and sealed inside the shade, so there is no bulb to change and the whole fitting is replaced at end of life. It runs on 50Hz AC 220-240V mains and wires into a standard UK ceiling connection. The driver is non-dimmable, so the light comes on at its full 12W output with no flicker or warm-up delay. The body is aluminium and the finish is grey, and the fitting carries a G energy class.

Frequently Asked
Does it need a bulb?
No. The 12W LED is integrated and sealed inside the dome, giving 684 lumens of warm white 3000K light, so there is no separate bulb to buy or replace. When the LED reaches the end of its life you replace the whole fitting.
Is it dimmable?
No. This fitting has a non-dimmable driver, so it runs at its full 12W output whenever it is switched on. There is no flicker or warm-up delay, but it cannot be set to a lower brightness on a dimmer.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. We would not recommend it for wet areas. It is best kept to hallways, landings, utility rooms and bedrooms.
Where does it suit best?
The shallow dome sits close to the ceiling and spreads light in a wide 180 degree beam, so it works well as general ambient lighting in rooms with lower ceilings where a hanging pendant would sit too low.
