Description
The Apo Coral is a 40cm aluminium ellipse vase with a half-solid, half-openwork design in a raw silver finish. The left side features a hand-formed coral-pattern lattice of aluminium loops and voids, while the right side presents a smooth, curved metallic surface with a brushed texture. The two halves merge at a vertical seam where the openwork transitions into solid metal.
Designed as a decorative object rather than a functional water vase, the Apo Coral suits console tables, sideboards and mantels in contemporary, coastal and industrial interiors. The 47cm width gives the piece substantial presence without dominating smaller surfaces. The openwork section allows light to pass through and cast shadow patterns on the wall behind, adding a second layer of visual interest when positioned near a lamp or window.
The raw aluminium finish has a slightly textured, unpolished surface that catches light unevenly across the ellipse profile, giving tonal variation from silver-grey to near-white depending on viewing angle. The 2.5kg weight provides stability on flat surfaces without requiring a weighted base. The vase accommodates dried flower arrangements, tall grasses or branches inserted through the openwork section, or can be displayed empty as a sculptural object.

Frequently Asked
Can this vase hold water?
No. The openwork coral section has voids throughout, so the vase cannot hold water. It's designed for dried flower arrangements, decorative branches or grasses, or to be displayed empty as a sculptural piece.
How is the raw aluminium finish maintained?
Wipe with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or smudges, use a barely-damp microfibre cloth and dry immediately. The raw finish will develop slight tonal changes over time as the aluminium oxidises naturally—this is characteristic of uncoated aluminium and not a defect.
What width surface does it need?
The 47cm width requires a console table, sideboard or mantel at least 50-55cm deep for stable placement. The 12cm depth means the vase sits shallow front-to-back, leaving space behind for other decorative objects.
Is the openwork pattern the same on every piece?
The coral lattice is hand-formed, so minor variations in loop size and positioning occur between individual vases. The overall pattern remains consistent but no two pieces are molecularly identical.
