Description

The Aperta is a stainless steel exit button with a flush-mount design and a raised circular press surface marked with clear green 'PRESS' and 'TO EXIT' text. The button housing measures 104mm x 92mm and sits within a standard 1-gang UK back box (sold separately), making it compatible with existing door-release and access-control wiring infrastructures.

Designed for commercial, institutional and residential access-control installations, the button is wired to trigger an electric door release when pressed. It supports both normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) circuit configurations, allowing integration with magnetic locks, electric strikes and automatic door operators regardless of their preferred signal type. The brushed stainless steel faceplate resists corrosion in high-use environments and the green legend provides clear visual instruction in low-light conditions.

The flush design minimises projection from the wall to 48mm including the button mechanism, reducing the risk of accidental activation from passing foot traffic or trolleys. The circular press surface is spring-loaded and returns to the neutral position after each press, providing tactile confirmation that the signal has been sent. The stainless steel finish pairs with modern door hardware and blends into commercial interiors without drawing unnecessary attention.

Frequently Asked

What back box is required for installation?

The Aperta fits a standard 1-gang UK mounting box. The back box is not included with the button and must be purchased separately. A minimum depth of 25mm is recommended for routing the wiring connections behind the button mechanism.

Does it support both NO and NC wiring?

Yes. The button mechanism supports both normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) configurations, making it compatible with magnetic locks, electric strikes and other access-control devices regardless of their preferred signal type. Refer to the wiring diagram in the manual for connection details.

Can it be surface-mounted?

Yes. The button can be flush-mounted into a recessed back box or surface-mounted onto a surface-mount 1-gang box. Surface mounting adds approximately 35mm of additional projection from the wall.

Is the button weatherproof?

The Aperta carries no IP rating and is designed for indoor use in commercial and residential access-control installations. For outdoor applications, consider housing the button within a weatherproof enclosure or selecting an IP-rated alternative.
