Description

The Aperta APPOWMW is a 24VDC 4.2A power supply unit designed to power ESP's multi-way intercom systems. Housed in a ventilated metal enclosure measuring 100mm wide by 200mm long by 40mm deep, the PSU converts mains voltage to regulated 24VDC output via screw terminals on the front panel.

One power supply is required per multi-way intercom system regardless of the number of handsets or door stations installed, making this the central power source for residential and small commercial intercom installations. The unit mounts inside an electrical enclosure or cabinet using the four corner mounting holes, with cable entry via knockouts on the rear panel. The 4.2A output capacity handles typical multi-way configurations including multiple handsets, door release mechanisms and camera feeds without requiring additional PSUs.

The perforated metal top panel provides passive ventilation to dissipate heat during continuous operation, while the compact footprint allows the PSU to fit inside standard distribution boards or wall-mounted enclosures alongside other low-voltage equipment. The screw terminals accept wire gauges typically used in structured wiring and access control installations, and the regulated 24VDC output protects connected intercom equipment from voltage spikes and fluctuations on the mains supply.

How many handsets can this power supply support?

The 24VDC 4.2A output is rated to power a complete ESP Aperta multi-way intercom system regardless of handset count. Typical residential installations with 2-4 handsets and one door station operate well within the 4.2A capacity. Larger systems with door release mechanisms or multiple camera feeds may approach the limit, so consult the system manual for power budget calculations if installing more than four handsets.

Does this require professional installation?

Yes. The power supply connects directly to mains voltage and requires installation by a qualified electrician in compliance with BS 7671 wiring regulations. The unit must be mounted inside an electrical enclosure with appropriate cable entry glands and earthing.

Can multiple power supplies be used in parallel?

ESP specifies one power supply per multi-way system. Running multiple PSUs in parallel is not recommended and may cause voltage regulation issues. If the 4.2A capacity is insufficient, contact ESP or Niori to confirm whether your proposed system configuration exceeds the rated capacity before installation.

What dimensions are needed for cabinet mounting?

The PSU measures 100mm x 200mm x 40mm and requires a minimum internal cabinet depth of 50mm to accommodate cable connections behind the screw terminals. The four corner mounting holes accept M4 fixings spaced on a 90mm x 190mm pitch.
