Description

We stock the Alfa in white as a fixed recessed downlight for ceilings in dry interiors. It has an integrated 10W LED giving 500 lumens of warm white 2700K light through a 60 degree reflector, set in a white powder-coated aluminium trim that sits flush with the ceiling once fitted.

The 60 degree beam gives a moderately wide spread that suits general room lighting when the downlights are spaced across a ceiling, or a tighter run of accent light over kitchen worktops, hallways and circulation routes. With a 90 CRI it renders colour accurately, which helps in kitchens where food is prepared and in areas where an honest colour is worth having. The IP20 rating keeps it to dry indoor use only.

The Alfa runs on 220-240V 50Hz mains through its own integrated driver and is not dimmable. It fits into a ceiling cutout and is held by spring clips that grip the ceiling from behind, so there are no visible fixings from below. The aluminium body helps carry heat away from the LED module, and the fitting carries an Energy Class F rating.

Frequently Asked

Is the Alfa downlight dimmable?

No. The Alfa runs at a fixed output on 220-240V mains, so it is not dimmable and does not need a dimmer switch on the circuit.

Can I fit it in a bathroom or outdoors?

No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

What sort of light does it give?

It gives 500 lumens of warm white light at 2700K through a 60 degree beam, with a 90 CRI for accurate colour. That makes it a warm, moderately focused downlight for general or task lighting.

Do I need a separate driver or bulb?

No. The LED is integrated and the driver is built in, so there is no bulb to buy and no external driver to wire. You connect it straight to a 220-240V lighting circuit.
