This 20cm mantel clock is built around a slice of natural agate stone in smokey grey tones, edged with a matt gold-finished iron rim. The agate face is cut from a single section of layered stone, so the mineral banding, translucency and colour variation differ between individual clocks. The clock mechanism sits behind the stone with gold-finished hands visible against the grey surface.

Designed as a decorative timepiece for mantels, desks, console tables and bedside tables, the clock rests on a matt black metal stand that holds the face at a gentle angle for easy reading. The 16cm depth with stand gives the clock enough projection to be visible on a crowded surface without dominating the horizontal space. The clock mechanism produces a gentle ticking sound during operation, audible in quiet rooms.

The matt gold edge softens reflections compared to polished or bright gold finishes, and the smokey grey tones in the agate range from charcoal through to pale grey-blue depending on the mineral layering in each individual stone. The contrast between the organic stone texture and the geometric precision of the clock hands gives the piece a contemporary rather than traditional character. The clock requires one AA battery (not included) and the mechanism can be accessed from the rear.
