Description

The Adamas is a pendant light with an amber glass shade, 22.5cm across and 23cm tall, in a softly rounded form. The upper half of the glass is faceted in a honeycomb pattern that catches and breaks up the light, while the lower half is smooth, so the amber glass glows warmly when it is lit. Inside is an integrated LED of 11W giving 746 lumens at 2700K, a warm white, with a colour rendering index of 90, so wood, fabric and food keep their true colours beneath it. Because the LED is integrated, there is no bulb to buy or change.

We would hang the Adamas over a dining table, singly above a small round table or as a pair or a row along a longer one, with each pendant bought separately. In a living room it suits a reading corner or the space beside a sofa, where a warm 2700K light at a lower height feels settled and calm. It hangs on a drop of up to 200cm, so you can set it close over a table or let it sit higher in a room with a tall ceiling. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry rooms only, and the dining room and living room are where we think it belongs.

The Adamas comes in two finishes, Matt Black or Brushed Brass, so you can choose the one that sits best with the wood, metal and fabrics already in the room. Both finishes pair with the same amber glass shade. Its canopy is 6.5cm across and 16.7cm tall. The light is dimmable, by DALI or by push dimming, so check that your controls use one of the two before you order. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in, so a qualified electrician should install it. Our photographs show the matt black version.
