Description
This Knightsbridge 5W GU10 LED bulb delivers 500 lumens of 2700K warm white light through a 38° beam angle, designed as a direct replacement for traditional 50W halogen GU10 spotlights. The bulb uses SMD LED technology behind a clear glass lens, producing focused directional light suitable for downlights, track lighting and recessed ceiling fittings.
The bulb is dimmable when paired with compatible trailing or leading edge dimmers, allowing output to be reduced from full brightness down to a low ambient level depending on the dimmer model used. At 50mm diameter and 52mm height, the bulb fits standard GU10 holders and sits flush or slightly recessed in most ceiling downlight housings. The 5W power draw replaces a 50W halogen while delivering equivalent perceived brightness, reducing energy consumption by 90%.
The 2700K colour temperature produces a warm white tone comparable to traditional incandescent and halogen sources, making it suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas and hospitality settings where a warmer ambience is preferred over cooler daylight tones. The CRI rating above 80 ensures colours render naturally under the light. The L70B50 rating of 54,000 hours indicates the bulb will maintain at least 70% of its initial output for approximately 6 years of continuous use, or significantly longer under typical domestic duty cycles of 3-4 hours per day.

Frequently Asked
Is this bulb dimmable with all dimmer switches?
The bulb is compatible with most trailing and leading edge dimmers, but not all dimmer models work equally well with LED bulbs. Check compatibility with your specific dimmer before installation, or contact us for guidance. Some older dimmers designed only for halogen may cause flickering or limited range.
What halogen wattage does this replace?
This 5W LED produces 500 lumens, which is equivalent to a traditional 50W halogen GU10 in perceived brightness. The 5W power draw reduces energy consumption by approximately 90% compared to the halogen it replaces.
Can this be used in enclosed downlight fittings?
Yes, the bulb is designed for use in standard ceiling downlights and recessed fittings. The IP20 rating means it is suitable for dry indoor locations only, not bathrooms or outdoor use unless the fitting itself provides additional IP protection.
What is the colour temperature like compared to halogen?
The 2700K colour temperature produces a warm white tone very similar to traditional halogen and incandescent bulbs. It creates a warmer, more amber-toned light compared to cooler daylight LEDs rated at 4000K or above.
