Description

The Knightsbridge LEDTD2 is a 24V DC plug-in power connector designed to feed mains power into Knightsbridge LED linkable flat striplight systems. The connector accepts a 24V DC input from a compatible driver or transformer and transfers that power to the striplight via a two-pin plug fitting that clips directly into the end of the strip.

The connector is rated to a maximum load of 36W, which supports typical single-run installations of Knightsbridge flat striplights up to approximately 3 metres depending on the specific striplight wattage per metre. The IP20 rating confines use to dry indoor locations such as under-cabinet lighting in kitchens, wardrobe interiors, shelving, and display cases where the connector body will not be exposed to moisture or direct contact with dust.

The black plastic housing measures 41mm long by 33mm wide with an 8mm projection from the mounting surface, keeping the connector compact enough to fit inside cabinet plinths and shelf recesses. The Class III rating indicates the connector operates at extra-low voltage (24V DC), requiring no earth connection and posing minimal shock risk when paired with a suitable isolated driver.

Frequently Asked

What striplight systems is this connector compatible with?

The LEDTD2 is designed for use with Knightsbridge LED linkable flat striplights that operate on 24V DC. It is not compatible with mains-voltage striplights or other manufacturers' systems unless they share the same two-pin connector specification.

What is the maximum striplight length this connector can power?

The connector is rated to 36W maximum. Typical Knightsbridge flat striplights run at 10-14W per metre, so a single connector supports approximately 2.5-3.5 metres of striplight depending on the specific product. Exceeding 36W will overload the connector.

Can this be used in bathrooms or outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means the connector offers no protection against moisture or solid ingress beyond fingers and large objects. It must be used in dry indoor locations only, away from direct contact with water or excessive dust.

Does the connector include the 24V DC driver?

No. The connector transfers power from a driver to the striplight, but the driver itself is sold separately. You will need a compatible 24V DC LED driver rated to match the total wattage of your striplight installation.
