Description

The Knightsbridge 20AX intermediate module is a single-gang grid component rated at 20A, designed to control lighting circuits from three or more switching positions. The module features a black nickel rocker switch set in a white ABS and steel housing that clips into Knightsbridge grid mounting frames (sold separately) from the front, allowing modules to be added or removed without disturbing the back box wiring.

Intermediate switching is used when a lighting circuit needs control from more than two locations — typically staircases with landings, long hallways with entry points at both ends and a midpoint, or large open-plan spaces where light control is needed from multiple doorways. The intermediate module sits between two two-way switches in the circuit, passing the switched live connection through regardless of rocker position. The 20A rating handles high-load lighting circuits including banks of downlights or large chandeliers.

The module measures 56.3mm high by 24.8mm wide and requires a minimum 35mm back box depth when installed in a grid frame. The black nickel finish provides a dark gunmetal appearance that sits between polished chrome and matt black, pairing with both warm and cool-toned interiors. The rocker projects 7mm from the face of the grid frame once clipped in, giving tactile feedback when operated.
