Description
The Knightsbridge 20AX DP grid module is a single-width switch module with an integrated LED indicator, finished in anthracite. The module clips from the front into Knightsbridge grid mounting frames (sold separately), allowing switches, sockets and dimmers to be configured side-by-side in custom layouts. The 20AX rating handles loads up to 4,600W on 230V supply, making it suitable for high-draw appliances and lighting circuits.
Designed for residential, commercial and light industrial installation, the module fits grid systems used in kitchens, workshops, offices and retail environments where multiple control points need to be grouped in a single faceplate. The double pole switching isolates both live and neutral when off, providing additional safety over single-pole designs. The LED indicator glows when the switch is in the on position, giving clear visual feedback in dimly-lit spaces or at a distance.
The anthracite finish is a dark grey matte tone that pairs with contemporary, industrial and monochrome interiors. The module body is ABS with steel internal components, and the front face sits 7mm proud of the grid frame when installed. The 35mm minimum back box depth is standard for UK grid systems, and the module occupies one grid width (24.8mm), allowing up to four modules to fit within a standard 2-gang grid plate.

Frequently Asked
What is a grid module and how is it installed?
Grid modules are individual switch, socket or dimmer components that clip into a separate mounting frame to create custom control plates. The module clips in from the front of the frame without tools, and the frame itself is fixed to a back box. This allows you to configure multiple controls side-by-side in a single faceplate.
What does the LED indicator show?
The LED glows when the switch is in the on position, providing visual confirmation of the circuit status. This is useful in dimly-lit rooms, utility areas or where the switched appliance is out of sight.
How many modules fit in a standard grid plate?
This module occupies one grid width (24.8mm). A standard 2-gang grid plate accommodates up to four single-width modules. Knightsbridge also offers wider grid plates for larger configurations.
What is the difference between 20AX and 10AX ratings?
20AX modules are rated for 20 amps (4,600W at 230V), suitable for high-draw circuits including water heaters, cooker hoods and multiple lighting loads. 10AX modules are rated for 10 amps (2,300W), sufficient for most single lighting circuits and lower-draw appliances.
