Description
The Knightsbridge GDM004SB is a 20AX 2-way single-pole switch module with a centre-off position, finished in smoked bronze. The module clips into Knightsbridge Grid mounting frames from the front, allowing installation without removing the frame from the back box. The 2-way configuration with centre-off position allows one switch to control two separate circuits, with a centre position where both circuits are isolated.
Designed for custom modular switch installations in residential, commercial and light industrial settings, the module pairs with Knightsbridge Grid frames sold separately to create bespoke switch plates with multiple controls. The 20AX rating handles loads up to 4,600W on 230V mains, making the module suitable for high-draw lighting circuits, heating controls, or multiple lamp groups where independent switching is required. The 35mm minimum back box depth fits standard UK mounting boxes.
The smoked bronze finish provides a dark metallic tone that sits between matt black and brushed bronze, pairing well with industrial, contemporary and warm-toned interiors. The ABS body and steel mechanism give the module a robust construction rated IP20 for indoor use. Knightsbridge backs this module with a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What does centre-off switching do?
Centre-off allows one switch to control two separate circuits. In the up position, circuit 1 is live. In the down position, circuit 2 is live. In the centre position, both circuits are isolated. This is useful for controlling two separate lighting zones or switching between two power sources.
What Grid frame is needed?
This module requires a Knightsbridge Grid mounting frame, sold separately. Frames are available in 1-module, 2-module, 3-module and 4-module widths, in matching smoked bronze and other finishes. The module clips into the frame from the front once the frame is fixed to the back box.
What's the difference between 10AX and 20AX?
20AX modules are rated to handle twice the current of 10AX modules. A 20AX switch can handle up to 4,600W on 230V mains, making it suitable for high-draw circuits like multiple downlight groups or high-wattage heating controls. 10AX modules are rated to 2,300W.
Can I mix finishes in one Grid frame?
Yes, Knightsbridge Grid modules can be mixed across different finishes within the same frame, though most installations use matching finishes for a consistent appearance. The smoked bronze module works well with other bronze, black and gunmetal tones in the Grid range.
