Pairing polished chrome with handles and taps
Polished chrome reads as a bright, reflective metal, so it sits naturally alongside chrome cabinet handles, mixer taps and towel rails. In a kitchen, a row of chrome sockets above the worktop picks up the same tone as the tap and pull handles, which keeps the metalwork looking deliberate rather than mismatched. The screwless plates we stock keep the front face smooth, with no visible screw heads to break up the finish.
If your fittings are a softer or warmer metal, brushed chrome is worth a look too. It has a finer satin grain that reads less mirror-like than the polished version, though this range is almost entirely the brighter polished finish.
Keeping fingermarks down
A mirror-bright surface shows touch marks more readily than a matt one, which is the main thing to plan around with polished chrome. Two choices help. First, fit switches and sockets where hands tend not to drag across the plate, and reach for the rocker or socket switch rather than the surround. Second, the inserts do the day-to-day work: white, black or grey insert options take the wear around the switch and outlet, so the chrome border stays cleaner for longer. A quick wipe with a dry microfibre cloth lifts marks without leaving streaks.

Fitting notes
