Description

TheLight is an LED wall light made of three slim, square-section arms that rise from a fluted, half-round backplate, each arm lit at both ends through a frosted acrylic diffuser. The frame is iron, and it comes in four finishes: satin gold, white, satin nickel and black. The light source is integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and it gives a warm white of 2700K with a colour rendering index of 80 or more, which keeps skin tones and fabrics looking natural. It is 57cm tall and 20cm across, and it comes 20cm out from the wall.

We think it works best in a living room, dining room, hallway or on a landing, and a pair either side of a bed, a fireplace or a mirror looks especially good, with the upright arms adding height to a plain wall. At 57cm tall it has real presence, so give it a generous stretch of wall rather than a cramped corner. It is not dimmable, so it runs from an ordinary switch and should not be wired to a dimmer. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The maker states it is for indoor use only.

The arms and backplate are iron, finished in satin gold, white, satin nickel or black, and the tips are frosted acrylic diffusers, which soften the light at each end. The design is by Cristian Cubiñá. Its energy class is E, and as a wired wall light it is for a qualified electrician to install. For styling, the satin gold and satin nickel versions sit happily alongside brass or chrome elsewhere in a room, while the white and black versions read as crisp, graphic lines against a plain painted wall.
