Description
The Solix is a 90mm recessed LED downlight with an integrated 7W SMD LED producing 4000K neutral white light through an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The white painted aluminium trim sits flush with the ceiling surface, giving a minimal profile that works in both contemporary and traditional interiors.
Designed for indoor task lighting in kitchens, home offices, hallways and utility rooms, the 4000K colour temperature provides a crisp, neutral tone that suits workspaces where colour accuracy and clarity matter. The opal diffuser spreads light evenly across a ceiling cone without visible hotspots or harsh shadows. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use.
The recessed housing requires a minimum ceiling void depth for installation (see specification table). The white aluminium trim blends into white or light-coloured ceilings, and the painted extruded aluminium construction provides better heat dissipation than plastic equivalents, extending the LED lifespan. The 7W output is sufficient for supplementary lighting in smaller rooms or as part of a multi-downlight layout in larger spaces.
Ideal Lux backs the Solix with a 5-year warranty covering the integrated LED and driver. The non-dimmable design simplifies installation where dimming is not required, and the fixed SMD LED module means no bulb replacements over the fitting's working life.

Frequently Asked
Can the Solix be used in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is rated for dry indoor locations only. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher for zones around showers and baths. Use the Solix in kitchens, hallways, home offices and living spaces instead.
Is the LED replaceable?
No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. The 5-year warranty covers the LED and driver, and typical LED lifespan is 25,000-50,000 hours depending on operating conditions.
What ceiling void depth is needed?
Recessed downlights typically require a minimum 100-150mm ceiling void for the housing and driver. Check the installation diagram in the product specification or contact us for exact clearance requirements.
What colour temperature is 4000K?
4000K is neutral white — cooler and crisper than warm white (2700K-3000K), but not as blue-toned as daylight white (5000K+). It suits task-oriented spaces like kitchens and home offices where colour accuracy and clarity are needed.
