Description

The Solix is a 90mm diameter recessed LED downlight with an integrated 7W 3000K LED housed in a painted black aluminium bezel. The fixed-beam design casts warm white light through an opal polycarbonate diffuser, which softens the beam edge and reduces glare without significantly lowering output. The black bezel sits flush with the ceiling once installed, leaving only a slim 4mm ring visible around the central diffuser.

Designed for residential and commercial interiors with standard ceiling voids, the Solix fits into a typical 60-70mm cutout depth and works in kitchens, hallways, bathrooms (subject to zone restrictions — see IP20 rating), living rooms and office spaces where recessed lighting is required. The warm 3000K colour temperature pairs comfortably with incandescent-era interiors and avoids the cooler blue cast of higher Kelvin LEDs. The fixed beam angle makes it suitable for general ambient lighting rather than accent or task work.

The black painted aluminium bezel resists corrosion better than steel alternatives and dissipates heat from the 7W LED module efficiently, which contributes to the 5-year warranty coverage. The downlight is not dimmable, so it operates at full 7W output whenever switched on. The opal diffuser conceals the LED chip arrangement and presents a uniform lit surface when viewed from below. The compact 90mm diameter allows multiple Solix downlights to be installed in a grid or line without overwhelming ceiling plane in smaller rooms.

No. The integrated 7W LED operates at full output when switched on and is not compatible with dimmer switches.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

A minimum 60-70mm void depth above the ceiling surface is typically required to accommodate the driver and LED module. Confirm the exact cutout diameter and depth with the installation guide before cutting into plasterboard.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the Solix is not protected against water ingress. It cannot be installed in bathroom zones 0, 1 or 2 (near showers, baths or basins). It can be used in zone 3 (more than 2.25m from water sources) or outside designated zones in a bathroom.

What colour temperature is 3000K?

3000K is classified as warm white, producing a yellowish-white light similar to halogen bulbs. It sits between the warmer 2700K (more amber, like traditional incandescent) and the cooler 4000K (neutral white, closer to daylight).
