The Sandbanks is a 43cm round side table built from iron with a hand-hammered conical base and a raised-edge circular top, finished in mixed antique and rustic bronze and gold tones. The surface is hand-finished using traditional metalworking techniques, creating variations in tone and texture across the piece where the hammering catches light differently.

Designed as a side table next to armchairs, sofas, or as a bedside table in rooms with an industrial or transitional aesthetic, the Sandbanks works where metal warmth is preferred over glass or timber. The 51cm height suits standard sofa arm heights and typical mattress heights for bedside use. The conical base gives stability on flat floors and rugs without needing feet, and the raised circular rim on the tabletop prevents items from rolling off the edge.

The hammered texture across the conical base is functional as well as decorative — it adds rigidity to the thin metal sheet and creates shadow detail under side lighting. The mixed finish combines darker oxidised bronze tones in the recesses of the hammering with lighter antique gold highlights on the raised surfaces, giving depth to the metalwork. How is it cleaned?

Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust. For marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but dry immediately. Do not use metal polishes, abrasive pads, or chemical cleaners as these will strip the hand-applied finish and alter the colour.
