Description
The QTX mounting hook is a C-shaped steel clamp designed to suspend stage lighting fixtures from overhead bars, truss sections and poles between 37mm and 50mm in diameter. The hook uses two independent wing-nut clamps: the upper clamp grips the pole or truss tube, while the lower clamp secures the lighting fixture's mounting bracket. Both clamps tighten with hand-turned wing nuts, requiring no tools for installation or adjustment.
Designed for mobile DJ rigs, small venue installations, school drama productions and home studios where lighting needs to be rigged and de-rigged frequently, the hook provides a 25kg safe working load when properly installed. The C-profile keeps the fixture positioned close to the pole, reducing lever arm and swing when the fixture is moved or panned. The matt black powder-coated finish matches most stage lighting housings and hides minor scuffs from repeated rigging cycles.
The steel construction provides rigid support without flexing under the weight of typical PAR cans, LED wash lights and small moving heads in the 3-8kg range. The threaded screw section on each clamp is approximately 50mm long, giving sufficient adjustment range to grip both thin scaffold bars (37mm) and thicker truss tubes (48-50mm) without running out of thread. The lower clamp accepts M10 threaded mounting brackets common on QTX, Showtec, ADJ and Kam lighting fixtures.

Frequently Asked
What pole diameters does it fit?
The hook clamps onto poles and truss tubes from 37mm to 50mm in diameter. This covers standard 48mm scaffold tube, T-bar lighting stands and most aluminium truss sections used in mobile DJ and small venue installations.
What's the maximum fixture weight?
The safe working load is 25kg when the hook is properly tightened onto a secure overhead support. Most LED PAR cans, wash lights and small moving heads fall well within this limit, but always check the fixture weight before rigging.
Does it require tools to install?
No. Both the pole clamp and the fixture clamp use wing nuts that tighten by hand. For safety-critical installations where the fixture will be overhead for extended periods, some riggers choose to finish-tighten the wing nuts with pliers, but this is not required for typical mobile setups.
Can it be used on square truss?
The C-clamp design is optimised for round tubes. Square truss usually requires a different clamp style (wrap-around or square-section clamps). Attempting to use this hook on square truss may result in an unstable fixing.
