The Paros Alabaster Table Lamp pairs a slim white iron frame with a shade of alabaster. A round base carries a straight stem, which bends over at the top into a short arm, and from that arm hangs a single rounded cylinder of alabaster, closed at the crown and open underneath so the light falls downwards. The stone carries soft white and grey veining, and when the lamp is lit it glows gently through the shade. The lamp stands 54.5cm tall and takes one E14 small screw bulb, which is not included, so you will need one to hand.

This is a lamp for the quieter corners of a home: a side table beside the sofa in a living room, a bedside table, a desk in a study or a console in a hallway. Because the shade faces down, it pools light on the table for reading, while the stone itself glows softly. The white frame keeps the look airy and lets the alabaster lead, so it sits as happily in a minimal room as in a more traditional one. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It comes with a UK plug, and it is not dimmable, so it is not for use with a dimmer.
