The Paradise cushion carries a detailed bird and flower print across a soft velvet-feel fabric, set against a black ground so the pinks, blues and greens of the design read with real depth. It measures 50 x 50cm, the standard square that sits comfortably in most cushion arrangements, and the cloth is 100% cotton, which gives the pile its sheen and its soft, brushed hand. The print is drawn in the chinoiserie style, an intricate display of birds and blooms with an Indian-inspired nature theme running through it.

A 50cm square is the workhorse size for a sofa or a bed, large enough to sit against a back cushion or to anchor a corner without crowding. This one earns its place on a plain sofa where the dark ground and the busy floral do the talking, or layered on a bed against calmer linens.
