Description

The MiniSpot is a slim LED wall light made for reading by. A round wall plate carries an iron rod that rises, turns through a right angle and reaches out to a single narrow cylindrical head, which points its light downwards. It stands 26cm tall. The light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change: it draws 3W and gives 260 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, a focused pool rather than a room-filling glow. A colour rendering index of 80 or more keeps the pages of a book and the colours around you looking natural. We offer it in two finishes, black or white.

Its natural home is beside a bed, where the narrow head puts light onto the page of a book or the top of a bedside table. A pair, one on each side of the bed, gives each of you a reading light of your own. It also works over a reading chair in a living room or a study, or beside a desk where you want a small, directed light. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The maker states it is for indoor use only. It is not dimmable: it gives its light at one fixed level, so it should not go on a dimmer circuit.

It is made of iron and finished in black or white. It is Class II, which means it is double insulated and needs no earth connection, and it carries energy class F. The design is by Cristian Cubiñá, and it comes down to three simple shapes: a disc, a bent rod and a narrow cylinder. Choose the black version to draw a crisp line against a pale plaster wall, or the white version where you would rather the fitting sit quietly on a white wall.
