The Kalvenne is a glass pendant light: a slim column of clear ribbed glass held in an iron frame with a satin bronze finish, lit by an integrated LED. It comes in two sizes, 25cm and 50cm. The 25cm size is 26cm tall and the 50cm size is 51cm tall; both are 13.5cm across and hang on a 180cm drop. Each gives 16W of LED power and 1520 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90+, so food, fabrics and skin tones look true. The LED is built in, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and the ribbed glass spreads a soft glow all the way round.

Rated IP20, it is for dry rooms indoors. Hung over a dining table, in a living room, a hallway or a bedroom, it gives useful light with a decorative presence. The 50cm size suits a tall ceiling, a landing or a table where one pendant needs to hold its own, while the 25cm size works over a smaller table or in a tighter space. It is dimmable with a compatible Triac dimmer, so you can bring it down for a quiet evening and up again for reading or dinner with friends.

The frame is iron with a satin bronze finish, a soft sheen rather than a high shine, with slim uprights and a shaped ring at the top and bottom holding the ribbed glass in place. Because the glass is clear, the fitting looks light and airy even in the 50cm size. It is a mains fitting, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician. As a practical styling note, try the two sizes hung together at different heights, or a row of one size over a long table; the bronze sits happily with warm woods, cream walls and touches of brass or black.
