Description

The Hebden is a pair of eyelet curtains cut from 100% cotton on the face, printed with a fine vertical stripe in a deep beetroot red against a cream ground. The stripe is printed to read like a woven ticking, so it carries a little texture and unevenness rather than a flat, mechanical line, which is what gives the cloth its relaxed, lived-in look. Because a curtain SKU is a pair, one order dresses a whole window with two matching panels. The range runs across several drop and width combinations, from 117cm to 229cm wide and 137cm to 229cm long, so there is a size for a small kitchen window as well as a full-height patio door.

These suit a room where you want daylight kept out but the look kept soft, a bedroom being the obvious home, though the stripe sits equally happily in a living room or a study. The cream and beetroot pairing is warm rather than cold, so it works against neutral, putty and stone walls, and picks up plum and berry accents in cushions or a throw. Hung from an eyelet header, the panels fall into even, regular folds along the pole, which keeps the vertical stripe running true down the drop.

The face is pure cotton, a fibre that drapes with a bit of weight and takes a printed pattern crisply. Behind it sits a blackout lining, so the panels block daylight and hold it back until you choose to let it in, which is the practical reason to choose these over an unlined stripe. The eyelet header threads straight onto a pole with no hooks or tape to fit, so hanging is quick. If you are building a scheme, the printed stripe is easy to layer with plain textures and reads as a modern take on a classic ticking.

Frequently Asked

Are these curtains sold as a pair or a single panel?

They are sold as a pair, so one order gives you two matching panels to dress both sides of a window.

Do the curtains actually block out daylight?

Yes, they carry a blackout lining behind the cotton face, which holds back daylight until you draw them open in the morning.

How do the curtains hang on the pole?

They have an eyelet header, so they thread straight onto a curtain pole with no hooks or heading tape needed, and fall into even folds.

What is the face fabric made of?

The face is 100% cotton, a natural fibre that drapes with a little weight and takes the printed stripe crisply and cleanly.

What sizes are available in this range?

The pair comes in widths from 117cm to 229cm and drops from 137cm to 229cm, so there is a fit for most windows.
