The Halvessa is a single pendant light with one alabaster globe hanging beneath a black U-shaped bar, suspended on two fine cables from a round black canopy. When it is lit, the alabaster glows from within and shows its cloudy veining, so the globe reads as softly marbled rather than plain white. The light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or fit. It gives 270 lumens at 4.5W in a warm 2700K white, a gentle, low glow rather than a bright working light. The pendant is 18cm wide with a drop of 180cm.

We like it hung low beside a bed in place of a table lamp, over a dining table or side table, or in a hallway or on a landing where a soft pool of light is welcome. It suits anyone who wants a single glowing globe and the warmth of real stone rather than glass. The 180cm drop brings the globe well down into the room, close to where the light is needed. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The maker states it is for indoor use only. It is not dimmable, so it gives one steady level of light and is not for use with a dimmer switch.

It is made from alabaster and iron, with the slim metalwork finished in black, which gives a crisp outline against the soft, pale globe.
